Women are certainly not exempt from finding great success after they reach the age of 50. To succeed in business, one needs only have the drive, determination, grit, and of course, a little bit of luck. With the right partnership, it doesn’t matter whether one is male, female, younger, or older. Today, we will take a look at a number of women who found success, regardless of their age.
Saundra Thomas (55): As Vice-President of Community Affairs for ABC affiliate WABC-TV, Saundra is most happy basking in the freedom of being able to “seek and speak her truth.”
Lucero Martinez (50): Martinez broke ground creating her own line of salsas and Mexican culinary products. She has also written a book! Martinez was quoted as saying, “At 50, I feel free, like nothing can stop me!”
Maya Wiley (53): After founding the Center for Social Inclusion, Wiley takes pride in tackling life’s challenges and helping others succeed. “I have a considered, deep confidence – that’s the magic of the 50′s,” she said.
Lisa Holton (55): As the President of Classroom, Inc., a nonprofit working to help low-income students reach higher levels of achievement, Holton has found immense satisfaction at being able to help children, regardless of age, gender, or sexual orientation.
Fern Mallis (69): At 60, Mallis is not slowing down. She ran New York Fashion Week for over a decade before authoring her own novel and appearing at speaking events all over the world. Her life motto is to be nice, one all of us should live by.
