You need a way to motivate the employees of your franchise. But like so many small business owners, you’re strapped for cash. Here are a few ways to incentivize your staff that won’t cost you a penny.
Offer opportunities to learn
If your employees have already mastered the skills they need to do their jobs well, it’s easy for them to get bored. Find ways to offer them opportunities to learn higher-level skills they’re interested in – possibly by having them shadow you or the franchise’s manager.
Pump up the perks
Perks of the job are part of what keep us coming back day in and day out – even when the job can seem like a grind, or the money isn’t that great. See what perks you can offer YOUR employees, whether they be more time off, a flexible schedule or free samples you get for your franchise.
Ask them what they’d like
Make sure your employees are involved in creating their own incentives. Ask them to list five things – besides money – that you can do to make coming to work more enjoyable.
